The Mayor's Summer Reading Club: Critterman 2:00 p.m.
Thursday, June 27
Meet and learn about this summer’s Animal Ambassadors! This event has live animals that will include a tarantula, giant toad, prairie dog, ferret, turtle or tortoise, an American alligator, and a kingsnake. Live Animal Ambassadors provide children the opportunity to experience and learn about wildlife and develop an understanding of and a healthy respect for the world around them.
Animal Edutainment’s animal care facility was founded in 1990 by America’s Teaching Zoo graduates, David & Susan Kleven. It is home to over 50 non-releasable animals who were orphaned, injured, surplus, or cast-off by previous owners. These animals now act as ambassadors for their species. It is David’s belief that if an animal is capable of living in the wild that is where it belongs. http://www.critterman.com/
