NRH Library Cards Are Free for All Texas Residents!

Texas residents aged 17 or older are eligible for a NRH Library card. All you need is:

  • A valid photo ID (ex: driver’s license, state ID, or passport)
  • Proof of your current address (ex: an insurance card, lease agreement, voter registration, or any current utility bill)

A Texas driver’s license or Texas ID can serve as both a photo ID and proof of your current address provided the address on the ID matches your current address.

Your card will be issued onsite and available for immediate use.

Under the Age of 17

A parent or legal guardian must apply for the card and provide the documents listed above.

Digital-Only Cards

Texas residents immediately have access to our online resources like eBooks, eAudiobooks, and research databases when signing up for an NRH library card. Texas residents over the age of 18 who cannot make it to the Library and need access to only our digital resources can apply for a Digital-Only Card. Patrons who want to want the ability to borrow from our physical collection of over 150,000 items, 3D print or sew in the Maker Spot, use a computer, or reserve a private study room should stop by for an NRH Library Card.
