Children’s Library Card Art Contest

Library News Posted on June 12, 2025

What does the NRH Library mean to you? Is it a place of stories, imagination, discovery, or fun? We want to see it through your eyes! This summer, the Library is inviting children and teens ages 18 and younger to take part in our Children’s Library Card Design Contest, inspired by the art-focused Mayor’s Summer Reading Club theme: Color Your World.

Starting Monday, June 16, through Monday, July 14, kids can pick up an entry form at the Children’s Desk and begin creating artwork inspired by the question: “What do you love about the Library?”

A panel of Library staff and community members will select the top 10 designs, and then our whole community will have the chance to vote for their favorite! Voting will take place in person at the Library and on Facebook from July 21 to July 31.

The winning artist will be announced on August 4 and receive a $100 gift card to a local business, plus the honor of seeing their artwork shared with young readers all over town as part of our September’s National Library Card Sign-Up Week!

Let your creativity shine and show us what the Library means to you. We can’t wait to celebrate the imagination of our community’s young artists!
