We are honored to announce that we have been selected to receive a grant from the Texas Book Festival to enhance our collection.
After careful examination of our community needs and our current collection, we will be using the grant funds to increase our employment and emotional support resources through a Community Recovery Resources Collection. Like so many others, our community is dealing with unemployment, uncertainty, and high levels of stress. Books purchased for this collection focus on job skills, computer software training, stress management, and mental well-being.
As a trusted source of information for our community, our goal is to ensure all of our patrons have easy access to current materials that will help educate, entertain, and inspire.

The Texas Book Festival (TBF) is a nonprofit organization that connects authors and readers through year-round, statewide programs that celebrate the culture of literacy, ideas, and imagination. TBF brings authors to Title I elementary schools, awards grants to public libraries, and engages tens of thousands of Texans at the annual Festival and Texas Teen Book Festival. Above all, TBF inspires all Texans to love reading.
Each year, funds raised at the annual Texas Book Festival support grants distributed to libraries across Texas the following year. Since 1996, the organization has funded 1,211 grants totaling over $3 million to 600+ libraries in every corner of the state.
