Over the next few months, you may notice some exciting updates at the Library! This winter, we’ll be refreshing the space with brand-new furniture designed to enhance comfort, functionality, and community connection.
Our current furniture has served us well, welcoming over 2 million visitors since the Library opened in its current location 16 years ago. However, after years of use—and the rigorous cleaning required during the pandemic—the time has come for an upgrade. The strong anti-viral cleaning products used during that time contributed to the accelerated wear and tear on our seating, tables, and other furnishings.
Thanks to a grant specifically awarded for this purpose, we were able to move forward with this project without using city or library funds. This funding allows us to replace the original furniture with durable, commercial-grade pieces that will serve our patrons for years to come. To keep these new additions looking their best, we’ll also be rolling out a new food and drink policy in the near future.
We’re looking forward to creating new cozy spots for reading, comfortable workspaces for studying, and versatile areas for relaxation. Whether you’re here to explore new worlds through books, work on a project, or just relax at the library, these new additions will make the Library an even better place to gather and connect with others.
Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward, and we hope you’ll enjoy these improvements as much as we will!
