Our popular Winter Reading Challenge is back, but with a twist—this year, we're offering TWO challenges to keep the fun going all season long!

Challenge 1: Cozy Up with a Good Book
December 2-31, 2024
December is all about comfort and connection, and what better way to enjoy the season than by curling up with a book?
📚 How It Works:
- Complete themed reading activities on Beanstack or using a paper log.
- Each BINGO (a line of completed activities) earns you an entry* for a chance to win one of three cozy gift baskets generously sponsored by the Friends of the NRH Library.
- Explore different genres, try out library resources, and discover new stories to brighten your holiday season.
*Be sure to log your hours on Beanstack or stop by the Library for help, as only activities logged in Beanstack will be eligible for the prize drawing.
Challenge 2: Be a Reading Machine
January 1-31, 2025
Ring in the new year by joining the national "Be a Reading Machine" Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Beanstack and Baker & Taylor. This month, it's not about individual prizes—it's about coming together as a community to reach a shared goal!
📚 How It Works:
- Log every minute of reading you complete in January.
- Help us contribute to our community goal of 1,000,000 minutes read!
- Compete against libraries and schools across the country to win prizes for our Library and community, courtesy of Beanstack and Baker & Taylor.
- Earn bonus points for our Library by sharing posts about the Winter Reading Challenge using #WinterRead2025 and #ReadingMachine hashtags on social media!
