Did you know that you can find five different biomes in North Richland Hills? Biomes are areas of the planet categorized by their climate, vegetation, and animal life. There are six major biomes on Earth (forest, grassland, freshwater, marine, desert, and tundra), but many, many scientists will classify biomes much more specifically. Cross Timbers Park features Wetland, Mid-Grass Prairie, Forest, Wildlife Forage, and Post-Oak Savannah biomes.
Before you visit the park, be sure to check out one of these fun books to learn more about our planet’s many biomes!
