The Maker Spot

Policies

The Maker Spot aims to be a flexible, participatory learning environment where any North Richland Hills (NRH) Library patron can utilize a host of hands-on learning opportunities, gain access to the latest technology to encourage entrepreneurship, and help our patrons (makers) become more creative and empowered with new skills.

We want makers of all sorts to share the space and equipment with one another. In order to achieve this goal, patrons of The Maker Spot must adhere to not only the NRH Library’s policies but the additional policies and responsibilities listed below. Failure to do so may result in The Maker Spot and/or Library privileges being revoked, as outlined in the NRH Library’s Patron Behavior Policy

Access to The Maker Spot

Makers must be NRH Library cardholders in good standing. A parent or guardian must accompany makers under the age of 13 at all times. Certain equipment will have age restrictions identified on the usage guidelines for each piece of equipment.

Before each use, makers must check-in at the reference desk on the 2nd floor with their library card or photo ID. Makers over the age of 18 and not residents of North Richland Hills must purchase a membership to use equipment in The Maker Spot.
