Our popular Winter Reading Challenge is back, but with a twist—this year, we're offering TWO challenges to keep the fun going all season long!

Challenge 1: Cozy Up with a Good Book

December 2-31, 2024

December is the perfect time to get cozy and catch up on some reading! Complete themed reading activities in Beanstack from December 2 to December 31 to earn a BINGO, which gives you an automatic entry* for a chance to win one of three cozy gift baskets sponsored by the Friends of the NRH Library. Paper logs will also be available.

*Be sure to log your hours on Beanstack or stop by the Library for help, as only activities logged in Beanstack will be eligible for the prize drawing.

Challenge 2: Be a Reading Machine

January 1-31, 2025

In January, join us for the national "Be a Reading Machine" Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Beanstack and Baker & Taylor. Unlike December’s challenge, there will be no individual prizes this time. Instead, we are coming together as a team for a chance to win prizes for the library and our community from Beanstack and Baker & Taylor.

From January 1 to January 31, every minute of reading you log will help us reach our collective goal of 1,000,000 minutes! After the incredible achievement of 5,000,000 minutes read during the Mayor’s Summer Reading Club, we know our readers are ready to take on this challenge!

Thousands of libraries and schools across the country are participating, so let’s show everyone just how much NRH loves books and reading!
