The Maker Spot is officially open, and we're so happy to welcome everyone back! The Maker Spot is open to the public during regular library hours and will close 30 minutes prior to the library's closing time. This space is free to use for all NRH residents, and as a welcome-back bonus, we'll be waiving non-resident memberships for a limited time!
While The Maker Spot is primarily a self-guided workspace, a staff member will be available during select hours to offer basic assistance and provide certification testing.

New! Cricut Maker
We provide a standard cutting blade, scoring stylus, a variety of mats, and a small selection of Cricut markers for you to use. Once you've taken a class and taken the certification test, you can reserve the equipment. If you're already comfortable using a Cricut, you're welcome to stop by during our staff available hours to take a quick test that will allow you to reserve the equipment. Just be sure to bring any paper, vinyl, or other materials you might need for your project.
Using The Maker Spot
Because it's been a while since the equipment has been used, you will need to re-take the tests to be certified to use our equipment. The equipment requiring certification tests are: 3D printers,
long-arm quilting machine, embroidery machine, sewing machines, scroll saw, drill press, and the Cricut. Training classes are offered for these classes, as well as a required refresher courses for past users of the long-arm quilting machine.
You can view our available equipment or sign-up for an upcoming class from The Maker Spot section of our website.
We hope you're as excited as we are to have The Maker Spot open again.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at info@themakerspot.org.
Happy making!
